Thank you for being part of the 41st Annual Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition on Saturday, December 5!
The information below is for registered caroling teams. If you haven't registered yet, you can register here.
Now, here's all you need to know to be well prepared for a wonderful afternoon of caroling:
How to FUNdraise
This event is the main annual fundraiser for the Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank. Your fundraising support enables PMSC-FB to provide the critical support of food, social services and community to our downtown neighbors. Thank you for your help to support this work!
The Fundraising Toolkit has many different ideas for how to raise money. From asking your friends, family and co-workers to putting on a bake sale to hosting a happy hour, there are many fun ways to rally financial support and help your team meet its Figlanthropy goal.
The fundraising done by your team by Friday, December 4 counts towards the Figlanthropy Competition. The fundraising done by your team during the caroling period on Saturday, December 5 counts towards the People's Choice Award.
Get ready to sing!
On the day of the event, you'll be singing for the crowds for about 90 minutes, then the finalist teams will get to sing from the main stage. Here are the main tips to be prepared:
-
Feeling confident with a few songs will make your group shine. Since the crowd will be circulating during the 90 minutes of caroling, two or three well-rehersed songs are plenty. It's also common for teams to take short breaks between songs to take a sip of water, reset the group arrangements, or enjoy your audience's appreciation.
-
No amplified instruments or music is allowed, so please leave those items at home.
What to wear
The festive, creative, and heartfelt outfits of the caroling teams is one of the best parts of Figgy! Here are some ideas to help your team shine:
-
Full costumes: Classic caroler ensembles, themed characters, matching holiday sweaters, or fun group concepts.
-
Easy-to-match ideas: Coordinated hats, scarves, colors, or accessories—simple touches that still make your team recognizable and photo-ready.
-
Practical tips: Plan ahead for warmth, comfort, and movement—you’ll want to look great and feel great while singing your heart out.
